Welcome to my world! It’s slightly bonkers (I’m informed), but more interesting that way!
I am an artist living in rural Lincolnshire (the photo shows a rogue chicken perched on glass in my conservatory). Mainly I spend my time making fused glass and taking photographs, but I also like to do other work such as textiles, collage or really whatever takes my fancy!
I’ve always been interested in the arty side of life and as a child I used to spend many happy hours creating masterpieces out of cardboard boxes, tin cans and sticky-back plastic. I used to have art exhibitions in my parents’ garage, inviting family and friends to come and have a look.
These days I have exhibitions in proper galleries and invite family and friends to look. Luckily they’re now joined by people who want to buy things… and now I can invite the whole world in to have a look via my website!
I studied Glass Technology and Techniques at the International Glass Centre in the West Midlands 2003/4 before returning to Lincolnshire to start working with glass. I travel widely and visit glass exhibitions all over the world to keep up with new developments.
I am inspired by life around me, especially the more quirky and colourful elements of it.
As well as creating my own work, I run workshops on fused and leaded glass, both locally and around the country. I work in schools and with community groups delivering fused glass workshops. I also give talks to groups. If you or your group would be interested in a workshop or talk, please contact me.
